the Earth is my ark
"The Earth is My Ark ©," is an original poem by jBowles. (See Epilogue below) I.
THE HEAVENLY SONG!
Step out My friends
And you shall see
A sight as Grand
As Grand can be!
For here you are
On Noah's Ark
Never having known
That you'd embarked!
300 Cubits,
By Fifty and Thirty
One more for a Window
Ever so thrifty.
Three Stories of Gopher Wood,
Doth The Lord say,
And seal it with Pitch
For a later day.
Now clamor aboard
In this orderPray,
Two by Two
That's _ 4 today!
Then 7 by 7
Your rooms are made,
Then food for all
That's _ 4 portrayed.
Now continue to board
As I count you all.
Three sons and their wives
Most Lovely and Tall.
Now you my Helmsman
O' Noah to steer
And bring your wife
There's nothing to fear!
But Lo _ my Friend
As I view your Boat
It is Not Long
Like an ancient Moat!
But It's Round instead
And strange it seems,
I can divide it up
By counting the Seams.
That's 300 Cubits
By all aboard
So that's (4 & 7)
And (7, 4 & 6 and 2 more.)
So 300 Cubits it was in length
Divided by the number of planks.
477462, we all recall,
That gives us 2 Pi, and that is all.
But the Decimal's wrong
For one reason or another,
Until we apply
The 4 Stalwart Pillars.
So multiply by 10's, as Pillars, must do,
The (1) is for him and the (0) is for her.
The Hemispheres count
So divide by Two. (1)
Now rounding out all
The numbers strong,
Our Ark stretches out
The Heavenly Song, "Pi is, 3.14162."©
Thirty by Fifty
The Good Lord said
To sail along
On its iron bed.
Twenty by Fifty
We'll apply to the Core
And a Blanket of
Air In one Cubit more.
Now "Elation" is our Emotion
When the Lord Decreed
"Gopher Wood" pledges "Volition," (2)
The human faculty of Choice, Free Will, and Decision!
Now Extract the Pitch both in and out,
Pave the road, and Warm the stove,
What more do we need,
But the Seed we brought aboard!
II. EMBOSSED IN STONE
But there are comparisons here
That we should speak,
Because it's Our Heritage
That we seek.
Now the Giza Pyramid
Is also Built _ Pi by 2
It's the Earth as a whole
Both Body and Soul (3)
40 Days and Nights
The Earth did sail
In a 30 by 50
Westward gale,
And here we Commemorate
These Mantle Measures,
In the lofty construction
Of the Great Pyramid's Brother. (4)
Now the Core and the Moon
They work together, so One of Each
To Two of the Moon, is (one and a quarter.) (5)
It's the Second one West of Giza's best!
Now the Earth from the Sun
Is a distance Far
93 million miles
I measure so far.
But across the Orbital Circle
Ever so Chill
186,000,000 miles
It is further still.
But written on Stone so well Embossed
The Heavenly message almost lost.
"I call the Thousands,
And the Sun-Folk Cross!" (6)
So by the Thousands Ever so Bright
To Penetrate the Darkness of the Night
Came 186,000
At the Speed of Light.
Three stories high the Ark was made The Core,
The Mantle, and the Atmosphere.
The Iron and Pitch, and Food of sorts,
Every Living Creature and a system of Counts!
Two birds went aloft when the rains abated
A Dove and a Raven, across the land Created.
Twice to return, the Dove alone,
Yet again _ Away its flown.
Pure folly some will say!
Well I'm not So Sure.
To some it offers Hope, To others, a Cure!
Perhaps by the Dove, Or the Raven, For Sure.
EPILOGUE: "The Earth is My Ark!"©
We are obsessed with the need to separate Church and State, Religion from Science, and Faith from Enterprise, telling ourselves that they are separate and discrete. But in the ancient world the blend of science and divinity was complete and the Cultural elements of each were inseparable one from the other. It's in our refusal to accept this in our own culture, that we haven't the means to understand it in theirs.
"The Earth is My Ark," is an attempt to re-introduce the "Culture of Science" and the "Culture of Divinity" as one Establishment. The Poem follows the narrative of Noah's Ark as told in Chapter Six of GENESIS from the Old Testament. Everything is verifiable, and I hope you are as Pleasantly Surprised as I was, when you see that the Ark is actually the Earth, and that the story purpose is intent on passing down certain Truths. One of these is the mathematical constant Pi, the knowledge of which we have steadfastly denied the Ancients. It is given to us (poetically) to the fifth decimal place _ 3.14162.
You'll Smile when you see how the association, using the Sacred number "Ten" (10), emerged as a link between Procreation and Mathematical Science! In the matter of Procreation, " .. the (1) is for the him and the (0) is for her!"
Similarly, the dimensions God gave Noah for the Ark, [300 Cubits long with a breath of 50 and a depth of 30] artfully gives us the Circumference of the Earth as 300 Cubits, the Depth of the Earth's mantle, expressed as the ratio [30/50 ths], and it gives us the Radius of the core as the remaining [20/50 ths]. We have only to fill in our knowledge of the diameter of the Earth to learn its dimensional proportions.
There is purposeful humor in God's instruction to Noah for making the Ark. It was to have three stories with a "window." The genuine intent, as all ancient scripts are written in metaphor, was not a boat-house with first, second and third floors, but rather, Noah was to construct the Earth with an Iron Core, an Outer Mantle, and an Atmospheric "Window," through which man could survey the heavens.
My favorite parts of the Poem, should I have favorite parts, are these, Firstly, we discover the possibility that the pyramids of Giza may, in part, be a reflection of Noah's Earthly Ark, and Secondly, that the opening passage of GENESIS, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth," may be imaginatively supported by application of the [void thousands] measure. (7) For in this way, the orbital diameter of the Earth's course around the sun gives us the Speed of Light, 186,000 [void thousands].

(3.) The base angles of the Great Pyramid, [the so called Khufu or Cheops pyramid] are 51.85º and are based on the mathematical constant, Pi, [3.1416].
(4.) The base angles of the Khafre pyramid, [the second largest pyramid of Giza] are 51.13º and are based on a 30-40-50 angle.
(5.) The base angles of the third pyramid, the Menkure pyramid, are 51.3º and are based on a relationship between the diameter of Earth's core (C) and the diameter of the Moon (M), and can be expressed in this manner. [1/2 (M + C)/M = 1.25]. The arctangent of 1.25 is 51.3º.
(6.) From the "Ancient Egyptian Pyramid Texts," (§ 1565) "I summon a thousand, and the sun-folk come to me bowing," [R. O. Faulkner, Aris & Phillips, London.]
(7.) The dimensional [void thousands] measure was used by the Ancients to adapt measurable distances [from an unrelated source] to express numerically equivalent Truths. An interesting example is one that if we should add the exact average diameters of both the Earth and the Moon [7920 and 2160] the result is 10080. This is the molecular weight of the basic building block of the Universe, the Hydrogen Atom. Symbolically, it has one proton [the Earth] and one electron [the Moon].
"All truth goes through three stages: first it is ridiculed: then it is violently opposed: finally it is accepted as self evident." Schopenhauer
